Experience
I want to be a tutor because the key to academic success as a student is surrounding yourself with strong support network. Tutoring is not just about helping students get the best grades, but it is about encouraging students to constantly set goals to do their best work. I've been tutoring since the fifth grade in different capacities. As a fifth grader, I tutored kindergarten and first graders at my elementary school. During middle and high school, I did a lot of peer review of papers and English assignments. I have also continued peer review and editing through out my English and Sociology classes during my undergraduate education. Most importantly, I've had tutors throughout my high school and undergraduate education which gives me another level of empathy and understanding for students in need of assistance. As I attended a top-tier liberal arts college for my undergraduate education, I have taken a myriad of classes outside of my major such as courses in Anthropology, African-American History and English. Please feel free to inquire about any of the courses I've taken :)
